I know, I know. It sounds like a scam. Some of you may even dismiss it as such; but if you pay attention, I’ll show you how it works, and why it’s not a scam.
So what’s the deal? Well, it’s simple really. These programs have been around for a while, starting with the free iPods in 2003. It’s affiliate marketing and a way for the owners of the giveaway site to make money. We’ll break it down like this:
Giveaway site: They have partner programs with different advertisers who pay them a fee for sending them customers who complete offers. More often than not, these offers are free trials. You: Sign up on the giveaway site and complete an offer. The giveaway site gets paid for the offer you completed. Now, to receive your free gift, you have to refer friends and family to sign up and do an offer too. Each gift has a different amount of required referrals, depending on how expensive the gift is. After your friends complete their offers, the giveaway site has made enough money to buy and send you your free gift, and also make a little profit at the same time.
Here’s the best part. Once you receive a free gift (be that a free iPod, iPhone, Xbox 360, PS3), your account isn’t closed. Your referrals just reset to zero. So, if you want another free gift, all you have to do is refer more friends and family to complete free offers. Sign up here, and start referring friends today!
Jailbreakers, go forth and prosper. Keep an eye out here for a forthcoming howto video.

So, if you haven’t heard, Apple is throwing a little party on Sept 9th, 2009. Officially dubbed “It’s only rock and roll, but we like it”, there has been a flury of speculation and discussion. The event coincides with the Beatles complete remastered collection and Beatles Rock Band release. Here’s what I think we’ll see.
3rd Generation iPod Touch.
Rumors have it that Apple will be revealing it’s 3rd Gen iPod Touch complete with shiny new cameras and possibly a microphone. Pictures and even video footage have surfaced. Apple, of course, is staying quiet. I also think we’ll see larger storage capacity in the iPod Touch. Possibly up to 64 GB.
iTunes updates.
I can see social networking integration coming to iTunes. Buy a song or movie, let your twitter followers or facebook friends know about it.
Here’s a great video I found on how to jailbreak your iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS running 3.0.1. Don’t have an iPhone yet? You can get one free by clicking here.
